H&M Taps Elie Saab for New Collaboration

H&M has announced Lebanese haute couture house Elie Saab as its latest designer collaboration, with a collection spanning womenswear, menswear and accessories set to launch this fall. The partnership marks another move in the retailer’s ongoing effort to bring high-fashion names to a broader customer base.

Collection Details

Key pieces will include embellished gowns, shimmering separates and sharply cut tailoring, alongside details such as fine lace, gradient sequins and signature monograms. The collection will also feature footwear and other accessories.

The ELIE SAAB H&M collection will bring the fashion house’s signature glamour and craftsmanship to a wider audience, combining its contemporary vision with established house codes. Each piece in the collection reflects Saab’s distinctive aesthetic, which draws from both Middle Eastern artistry and Parisian sophistication, resulting in garments that balance opulence with wearability.

Designer Comments

Ann-Sofie Johansson, H&M Creative Advisor and Head of Design Womenswear, said the collaboration represents a milestone for the retailer. “Mr Saab is a designer we have always respected – the journey from master of bridalwear in Beirut to the centre of Paris fashion is an amazing, rich story and we are so excited to be exploring his world.” She added that customers can expect a “magical, ornate and glamourous collection.”

Elie Saab, Chairman and Chief Creative Officer, said the collection was created for admirers of the fashion house. “I hope it will be adopted with the same enthusiasm it was created with,” he said. “I am very happy with this collaboration and with the way we worked together with the H&M team to bring the collection to life.”

Elie Saab Background

Founded in Beirut, Elie Saab gained early recognition for bridalwear before becoming one of the first international members of France’s Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture. The house is now known for its couture, ready-to-wear and accessories, with its designs frequently featuring on the red carpet.

Haute couture collaborations between fast fashion retailers and luxury houses have become a recurring strategy for making high-end design more accessible. While some critics question the impact on exclusivity, others argue the partnerships introduce new audiences to craftsmanship they might otherwise never encounter. H&M has pursued this approach for years, typically releasing limited-edition collections that sell out quickly.

Launch Details

The announcement follows a busy year of designer collaborations for H&M, which has already partnered with Stella McCartney and WARDROBE.NYC in 2026. The ELIE SAAB H&M collection will launch in select H&M stores and online on 22 October 2026.
